Making Room Advent Sermon Series
Week 2: December 5 Second Sunday of Advent; Communion
Making Room Series, Week 2: “Welcome Strangers”, Although caution is necessary, there are good opportunities to meet and show hospitality to those we call “strangers.” With shepherds, this happened for Mary and Joseph when Jesus was born. In Jesus’ life, no one was truly a stranger to him, and meeting a stranger was an opportunity to demonstrate love and inclusion into the community of God. For us, this requires caring for people who look like us, talk like us, and live near us—and those who don’t. Scriptures: Deuteronomy 10:12-22; Matthew 2:1-8
