All Things New Sermon Series

“All Things New” Sermon Series

July 7 “All Things New” series: “The Church Thriving in Real Life” The church in Corinth was in the setting of a city with many dark issues. The church also was displaying some opposition to Paul as an apostle. Even from a position of pain over the issues, Paul wrote them about the Gospel being for real everyday life, and how through God’s power the church can thrive. With all things new, the church thrives in real life. Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 1:1-9; 2 Corinthians 4:7-15

July 14 “All Things New” series: “The God of All Comfort” Suffering is inevitable in life. Christian suffering acknowledges God as the God of compassion and the God of all comfort. Understanding who God is and what God says about suffering in His Word, we can receive His comfort and thus can comfort others. With all things new, we are comforted by God. Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7; 2 Corinthians 7:5-13a

July 21 “All Things New” series: “Ministry in the Spirit” The old covenant, the Law, was good but incomplete. The new covenant ministry of which Paul speaks is ministry in the Spirit, ministry that Paul explains what it looks like. With all things new, we are ministers in the Spirit. Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 3:1-6; 2 Corinthians 3:7-18

July 28 “All Things New” series: “The New Has Come” In Christ, the old life of slavery to self and sin has gone. The new life of devotion to Christ means that we have new attitudes and actions. New creation comes through the work of Christ reconciling us to God. With all things new, we live in reconciled relationship with God and proclaim that reconciliation to others. Scriptures: Colossians 1:15-23; 2 Corinthians 5:16-21.
