March 28 “Jesus and the Uncertainty of Obedience” Jesus modeled obedience to God with his prayer, “Not my will, but Yours be done,” and as Paul wrote to the Philippians, “Jesus humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” For us, obedience to God takes initiative, constant attention, spiritual discipline, learning to surrender and trust, and the gracious work of the Holy Spirit in us. In obedience, through Jesus we can embrace the uncertain and face unsteady times.
