Hidden Christmas - A Light Has Dawned

December 3, Hidden Christmas Series Begins: “A Light Has Dawned” Sadly, the world is a dark place, and people will not find their way or see reality unless Jesus is their Light. Jesus is the Light for all because we cannot generate life and salvation for ourselves. With the Light of Christ, we can discern the truth and meaning of Christmas. Scriptures: Isaiah 9:2, 6-7; John 1:1-9.

December 10, Hidden Christmas Series Week 2: “No Fairy Tale” The birth of Jesus tells us what God has done. It is good news, not simply advice or fiction or a fairy tale. The Christmas story is about God working out His purposes and fulfilling His promises. With the story of Christ, we can discern the truth and meaning of Christmas. Scriptures: Luke 1:26-38; Luke 1:39-56.

December 17, Hidden Christmas Series Week 3: “The Uniqueness of Jesus” The Christmas story drives home the message that Jesus is unique in being fully God and fully human, the hope of the world. In Jesus, God became human and emptied Himself, modeling for us the attitudes and life we are to live. In the uniqueness of Jesus, we can discern the truth and meaning of Christmas. Scriptures: Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 1:18-23.

December 24, Hidden Christmas Series Week 4: “The Shepherd’s Faith” The shepherds who received the Christmas message listened well, overcame their fears, and went out carrying the joyful news to others. Seeing their faith, we can learn about how we should be responding to the promises of Christmas. Responding as the shepherds did, we can discern the truth and meaning of Christmas. Scriptures: Romans 5:1-11; Luke 2:8-20.

Christmas Eve, Hidden Christmas Series: “The Doctrine of Christmas” In addition to passages in the Bible that give us accounts of Jesus’ birth, there are passages that help give explanation of what His birth means. These passages tell us that Christmas means salvation is by grace, Christmas is true, fellowship with God is possible, and we can have joy. From God’s word we can discern the truth and meaning of Christmas. Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 2:1-20;
1 John 1:1-4.

December 31, Hidden Christmas Series: “The Meaning Behind It All” There are numerous symbols, traditions, and celebrations connected to Christmas. Many of these have their meaning rooted in Scripture and can be meaningful to us when we know what the meanings are. Knowing these meanings can help us to discern the truth and meaning of Christmas. Scriptures: Acts 17:16-21; 1 John 5:20. (Dec 31, Will not be streamed)
