“He Gets Us” Sermon Series

January 7 “Stressed Enough?” Our world is stressed. Jesus gets that. He taught how to deal with the challenges of life. The key to what Jesus taught is to believe God cares for you. Our belief leads to our actions in dealing with our stresses. Stressed enough; Jesus gets us. Scriptures: Romans 5:1-6; Matthew 2:1-15

January 14 “One Is the Loneliest Word?” Multitudes of people cry out in loneliness. Do we wonder whether Jesus ever experienced such loneliness? Understanding Jesus’ loneliness and other biblical examples can be a comforting reminder that we are not alone. In loneliness, Jesus gets us. Scriptures: 1 Kings 19:9b-18; Matthew 27:45-50

January 21 “Can I Judge without Being Judgmental?” Jesus tells us to stop pinpointing the shortcomings of others and to look inwardly and deeply examine our own hearts and motives. In doing so, we can become more empathetic toward others. In our tendency to judge, Jesus gets us. Scriptures: Romans 2:1-11; Matthew 7:1-5

January 28 “Are You a Good Role Model?” All Jesus teaches us is not easy to practice. At times we have our struggles such as loving others, forgiving, and not judging. Always setting the right example for others is tough. In our pursuit of being a good role model, Jesus gets us. Scriptures: Philippians 4:8-9; John 13:12-17
