January 20 “A New Commandment for the New Community” If we are to be true disciples of Jesus
we must take Jesus and His word seriously. Jesus commanded His followers to love one another, a
commandment that carries His expectations for us as His people. God provides for us to fulfill the
commandment to love one another.
Scriptures: John 8:31-32; John 13:34-35

January 27 “How to Develop Authentic Relationships” To fulfill Jesus’ command to love one
another, we must recognize that we are all part of the body of Christ and belong to one another. This
understanding helps us to develop authentic and meaningful relationships with each other that are rooted
in Christ. God provides for us to develop and have authentic relationships.
Scriptures: Romans 12:3-5; Acts 2:42-47

February 3 “How to Connect Deeply with Others” To love one another and connect deeply takes devotion to one another and being intentional about connecting in that devotion. A variety of obstacles can get in the way of this, yet there are ways to help us develop deeper relationships. God provides for us to connect deeply with others.
Scriptures: 1 Peter 1:22-25; Romans 12:9-13

February 10 “How to Love Those Who are Different” To love each other the way Jesus loved His disciples means we must accept others as Jesus accepted us. We are to view others in light of their eternity and need instead of by their outward appearance, possessions, status or abilities. God provides for us to love those who are different.
Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21; Romans 15:1-7

February 17 “How to Resolve Conflict in Relationships” Living in harmony is critical for loving one another. Awareness of what causes disharmony or conflict is important for finding the solutions to address conflict and restore harmony in relationships. God provides for us to resolve conflict in relationships.
Scriptures: Romans 12:14-18; Matthew 7:1-5

February 24 “How to ‘Lift Up’ Those Who are Down” Life is hard, and in our love for one another we are called to encourage one another. Encouragement, building others up, is taking the truth of Scripture by life and word to help restore perspective and provide the hope that carries through affliction. God provides for us to be uplifting to those who are down.
Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 5:11; Hebrews 10:19-25
